The National Law Center joined a friend of the Court brief before the US Supreme Court on an important Child Pornography case. The NLC was joined by child advocacy organizations Stop Child Predators, The KlaasKids Foundation, The Joyful Child Foundation and the Jessica Marie Lunsford Foundation.
Oral argument on case was heard by the Supreme Court on October 30, 2007.
The case, US v. Williams, is an appeal of a federal court striking down a law that prohibited persons from marketing and trafficking child pornography on the internet. “This case is important to provide law enforcement a tool to combat the on-line exploitation of children” said Richard Whidden, NLC Executive Director. “We are proud to partner with leaders in child advocacy field in bringing these arguments in support of children before the Court,” Mr. Whidden added.
The case is scheduled for review by the Supreme Court later this year. Read Brief
